I need to reduce this country road and rework it. I am starting with an existing mesh that is more dense than nessasary. It also has a beveled edge on both sides of the road. I will eliminate the edge to start that reduce the size by almost have then I will also reduce where I think the road has more segments than necessary.
Here you can see the density of the mesh is a little high. Reducing this may help greatly in the final performance of the virtual world.

Mapping the terrain by exporting the uv map. I use it for a guide layer in Photo Shop and begin painting over it.
This road is to be filled with pot holes. I scan the mesh and then add the minimum geometry to cause the vehicle to feel it.
This is the y intersection starting to take place. The bridges are still in place holder mode. They should be fun and I am looking to use alpha mapping on them to reduce the geometry detail.
